New Every tool you open is a tile
Recorded in the app itself, keyboard only. 54 seconds.
Open-source app that replaces your scattered SaaS tools with a single self-hosted workspace. Mail, boards, docs, chat, and more — side by side in one window, all under your control.
The demo needs no account. Your workspace is removed after a day.
Your desktop tiles its windows. Dobase does the same with its tools: every one you open is a tile, and the tiles arrange themselves. The chat sits next to the board, the calendar under your mail, and nothing hides behind a tab.
Alt with the arrows or H J K L goes to a tile, with Shift the tile moves. One key shows a tile alone, another gives it more room. On a Mac they go with Control and Option, or with a pair you pick yourself.
The launch on one desktop, your mail on another. The bar shows what is open where, with a dot where something is new and one where a call is on.
From card to card, row to row, into dialogs and menus, and on to the tile beside it. A card's or an event's details float over all the tiles, the way a dialog does on a tiled desktop.
In a narrow window and on a phone it is one tool at a time.
Install only what you need. Each tool can be shared with different collaborators, or kept private.
IMAP/SMTP email with threaded conversations, search, drafts that sync, and calendar invites you accept right from the message.
Kanban boards with labels, due dates, assignees, comments with @mentions, attachments, and an archive.
Rich text documents several people write in at once — you see each other's cursors, live.
Real-time messaging with replies, @mentions, edits, file sharing, and who's online and typing.
Task lists with due dates, assignees, repeating tasks, comments, and attachments.
Folders, a picture gallery with slideshow, readable text, markdown and code, and public links with a password and an expiry date.
Syncs with any CalDAV server — iCloud, Fastmail, Nextcloud — or runs on its own. Recurring events and invites.
Video calls powered by LiveKit, with screen sharing, right inside your workspace.
Hit Cmd+K to jump to any tool or action — or keep typing to search cards, todos, documents, files, chat, events and mail at once.
The arrow keys work in every tool, each has a full set of shortcuts, and a ? overlay lists them.
Mention someone and they hear about it. Activity dots show what's new since your last visit, pushed live — and an email digest for when you're away.
A short, low tap for a message, a notification, new mail, a todo ticked off. Made in the browser, quiet by design, and off with one switch.
Invite people as owners or collaborators, one tool at a time. Permissions are explicit and never global.
Every tool answers JSON with a personal access token, read-only if you like. The dobase terminal app, your scripts and AI agents work in your workspace through it.
TOTP-based 2FA with any authenticator app, and recovery codes for the day you lose your phone.
Works from the keyboard and with a screen reader, meets WCAG AA contrast, and respects reduced motion.
Light and dark with your system, or one of 22 themes, down to the sign-in page. Set it all in monospace if you like.
Responsive on any screen. Add it to your home screen as a PWA for a native-app feel.
Dobase shows you who's there and what they're doing, the moment they're doing it.
Everyone types at once and the text merges as you go. Each person's cursor shows up in their own colour, with their name — no locking, no "Marcus is editing".
Faces beside every tool in the menu and at the top of every tile show who's in. The card, todo or file someone has open gets a ring — and inside it, you can see them writing a comment before it lands.
One search box for every tool you share: cards, todos, the text of your documents, files, chat, events and mail. Enter opens it as a tile, right where it lives.
Twenty-two themes, the ones Omarchy ships: Tokyo Night, Catppuccin, Gruvbox, Nord, Rosé Pine and the rest. Pick one and this page wears it too.
Not just a background: card labels, tool icons, the logo, checkboxes, the sign-in page, shared links and the installed app's title bar take the theme. Text stays readable in every one of them, checked against WCAG AA.
On Omarchy, Dobase switches along when you change the desktop's theme, themes you made yourself included. Pages you have open change colour on the spot. Anywhere else, pick one theme for light and one for dark, and it follows your system.
Set the whole workspace in monospace, and on Omarchy that is the font your desktop is in. Or press Cmd+K in the app and type a theme's name to try another.
Type dobase and your workspace opens right there. Move cards across a board, tick off todos, keep up with the chat and search everything, without leaving the keyboard. Made a mistake? u takes it back.
The same tool gives scripts and AI agents a command for everything, so Claude can read your board or draft a reply. And it wears your theme, like the one you picked above.
One small download for macOS, Linux and Windows. More about the CLI →

Dobase runs on your server. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party data sharing. One Rails app, one SQLite database, one Docker container. That is the entire stack.
Free for any purpose. Use, modify, distribute, sell — no restrictions. No vendor lock-in, no surprise pricing, ever.
Read the license →Install with ONCE for the easiest setup — backups, updates, and SSL handled automatically. Or deploy with Kamal for zero-downtime deploys with LiveKit video. Works on any VPS, cloud server, or Raspberry Pi.
Or try it right now: the command here runs Dobase on http://localhost. On a server with a domain, let ONCE or Kamal take care of HTTPS.
